About the breakfast

The Annual MLK Leadership Breakfast was founded by Bishop E.W. Jackson and Theodora Jackson to celebrate the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his commitment to leadership, service, and community. Now in its 26th year, this meaningful gathering honors outstanding community leaders who exemplify Dr. King’s values while inspiring positive change.

Through the generous support of our sponsors, the breakfast also provides scholarships to two deserving high school students each year—investing in the next generation of leaders and ensuring Dr. King’s vision continues to live on.

Maximum Potential Christian Academy

Maximum Potential Christian Academy (MPCA) is a Classical, Principle Approach Christian school committed to educating children through the truth of God’s Word. We teach traditional elementary subjects—reading, math, science, and history—from a biblical worldview, recognizing that all knowledge is created by Almighty God.

At MPCA, we believe education is a partnership between home and school. We welcome and value parental involvement and exist to be a blessing to Christian families seeking an excellent education for their children in a safe, loving, and Christ-centered environment.

Our Vision is to raise men and women who love God, love our country, and are dedicated to preserving Judeo-Christian values and culture.

Our Mission is to teach each child according to his or her individual ability, helping every student reach their maximum academic potential and fulfill God’s plan for their life.

MPCA serves students from Preschool through Sixth Grade. Preschool students must be three years old by September 30 and potty trained. Our preschool program introduces letters, sounds, numbers, and quantities through hands-on learning in a Bible-based curriculum that encourages curiosity, growth, and a love for learning.

The Called Church

The Called Church is a nondenominational Christian Church. We welcome all people of all backgrounds. Our mission is to help you find and fulfill your God-given calling and destiny through faith in Jesus Christ and the infallible and inerrant wisdom of God’s Word as set forth in the Bible.

Romans 8:28, says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the calledaccording to His purpose.”

Our Pastor, Bishop E.W. Jackson, is a man of God who believes in teaching the whole counsel of God and applying it to all the issues of life. God told Joshua that if he would keep God’s word in his mouth and heart, and meditate in it day and night, he would make his way prosperous and have good success. Bishop Jackson teaches us how to succeed as disciples of Jesus Christ in every area of life, just as the scripture promises.

God not only wants to save us from the eternal damnation that sin deserves. He wants to save us from its ravages in this life as well. The church is a witness to the world of the reality of God and His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. We are “the called” according to His purpose. We are repositories of the love of God because He has poured out His love in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

If you are looking for a church home where the Word of God is taught with clarity and power, where you and your family will be warmly welcomed and served, come visit The Called Church. Bring your children to our William Jackson Youth Center. We look forward to meeting you soon.
